Thank you for your past support of The Gardens at Unity Village. As we continue to grow and flourish as a completely volunteer driven organization, our thinking gets broader and our planning reflects the reality that each year we advance in our results and our impact on our local community. We intend for that to continue.
Please consider making a gift again this year that will help sustain us.
Our accomplishments in 2019 include… Our best year ever in gross revenues—in excess of $53,000. The most active volunteers and volunteer hours accumulated The purchase of a 30’x72’ high tunnel for extended growing and controlled growing environment Finalized plans and funded a 30’x30’ addition to our garden supply shed (construction in progress) as a consolidated area for rolling mechanized equipment and maintenance supplies. Increased production of raw honey through beekeeping activity Largest attendance volume of our annual Apple Butter Fest Largest volume of Market Stand sales Largest volume of canned products sales Improved social media presence
Our 2020 challenges and opportunities include…. Planning and funding expansion of our Market Stand canopy to increase options for demos, vendors and promotion Creating a policy for attracting complimentary vendor activity at our Market Stand to expand interest levels and create an even greater hub of activity Creating a dedicated workshop and activity space in the barn Increase beekeeping results Create a plan to assure that we can continue a highly successful Market Stand presence during the lengthy Colbern Road expansion project scheduled to commence by the spring of 2021. Continue to generate more active volunteer activity Build on our already successful canning operation Continue to increase our fruit and vegetable production to reduce our reliance on resale of produce auction product. Develop a more efficient and redundant organizational administration
As you can tell from this narrative, our results continue to get better and better. Our greatest asset is our tremendous volunteer group. The Gardens at Unity Village has developed into its own community with its culture of generosity, respect and commitment. Our combination of working together and playing together is palpable to the public we serve who have become a loyal base of support and who want us to succeed. We also need your support.
